Meet Alberta

Pronouns: She/They

Alberta identifies as Black, Indigenous/Seminole, Queer & Androgynous. She was originally raised in the midwest in a musical household rooted in Jazz, and many African instruments. These experiences led her to maintain an ancestral relationship with sound and meditative healing. Challenging life experiences led her to bodywork, and the power it can have in releasing trauma in the system.

Alberta graduated with an A.O.S. in massage therapy from the Swedish Institute in NYC. She was licensed in New York State and is now licensed in Oregon. She has worked in Portland, NYC, Colorado, and Costa Rica in a range of settings including spas, integrative wellness centers, yoga retreat spaces, home spaces, and in the outdoors.

I truly enjoy giving these healing modalities, and supporting clients in finding realignment, peace, and connectedness to their body and spirit. It honors my ancestors who had been enslaved, and continually erased, to be seen and to see you through this work. I hope my skills could be useful to you in resolving trauma, pain or discomfort and moving you forward in wholeness & harmony

Clients have most frequently described her touch as warm, fluid, focused, attentive and intuitive. She is always open to learning new modalities and treatments to align and integrate with what clients need. In her free time she enjoys hiking, practicing yoga, gardening, working with plant medicine, attending cultural community events, writing, singing, day trips, and spending time with close friends and family.
